Chinese Art from
The Metropolitan of Art
Chinese Art from The Metropolitan Museum of Art: The Florence and Herbert Gift is a collection of 120+ Chinese works of art that was sold at Sotheby’s for double its high estimate of $3.8 million, achieving $8.3 million.
My role was to create a bespoke catalogue design as well as a unique exhibition experience that would bring to life some of the great Jade pieces from this collection. We decided to create an inspired atmospheric feeling to the Astor Chinese Garden Court at The Metropolitan Museum of Art by creating a moon-gate made out of sheer fabric scrims with dramatic lighting and real bamboo plants throughout the exhibition to embrace the art.
